Who we are:
waytoB is an early stage, award winning startup with a simple but ambitious goal; make local/regional travel accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. How? We are building a smartphone & smartwatch wayfinding solution that can be used by anyone in the population regardless of their ability level. Our early target market is people with intellectual disabilities, who until now have been marginalised and excluded from working, socialising and generally living an independent life. To date we have been backed by Enterprise Ireland and Trinity College and have raised over €400K. Our list of awards include the Irish leg of the James Dyson award in 2017 and the AbilityNet Tech4Good award in 2018.
Who we're looking for:
We are hiring a talented engineer/software developer to help us bring our vision to reality. The successful candidate will be someone who has a passion for technology along with the insight on how to apply it for positive change. They will be aware of industry best practice across all aspects of building, testing and deploying software.
Our technology stack includes a native Android mobile application frontend, with the backend built using the Django and Django REST framework, integrated with several external RESTful APIs. Everything is hosted and served from AWS.
What you'll do:
You will work closely alongside the lead developer and co-founder and be given a lot of responsibility. You will be involved in all aspects of a user-centered design cycle, from requirements gathering all the way through to testing, not just tediously debugging old code.
You will be working on technical challenges, from optimising shortest paths in a network of nodes, to using the latest data from advancements in positioning satellite constellations. You will also be using a variety of REST APIs and parsing and analysing large data sets.
We are currently a very small and tight-knit team who enjoy working in a friendly, but competitive and dynamic work environment in Ireland’s leading university, surrounded by and interacting with leading researchers, engineers and innovators. We have the opportunity to do impactful, innovative work and sharing this passion in what we do is very important to being a part of the waytoB team.
Job location is in Dublin city centre, salary will be competitive. WaytoB is an equal opportunity employer.
